ABOUT ME
I'm Anthony Malarczyk, but you can call me "Archy." For a solid 14 years, I was fully immersed in the world of racing, competing at quite a high international level. You name it, I've raced on tracks, roads, against the clock, and even on mountain trails.
In between all the adrenaline, during off-seasons, you'd often find me at my local bike shop, tinkering away. I've always been a bit of a bike enthusiast, so maintaining my own race bikes became second nature.
When my racing days eventually took a pit stop, I revved up my career as a professional mechanic. I got the incredible chance to join the Great Britain Cycling Team. The highlight? Leading the mechanical charge for the Paracycling Team at the London 2012 Games. Let me tell you, it wasn't your usual bike-fixing gig. Those bikes needed some serious customization to suit each athlete's unique needs. That's where my skills got their turbo boost.
Zooming forward, I shifted gears to Team SKY, where I got a front-row seat to the high-speed action and had the chance to work with some of the biggest names in the sport. It was like the Formula 1 of cycling – an absolute rush. And yeah, I picked up even more tricks of the trade along the way.
Then, a new chapter opened at Welsh Cycling. Started off as a Coach, and soon after, I grabbed the handlebars as the Head Mechanic. That role was like riding a rollercoaster, touching on all sorts of disciplines. The cool part? Getting to fine-tune bike setups with athletes through bike fitting. Plus, I got to rub shoulders with the ace support crew at Sport Wales – think sports physios, doctors, nutrition buffs, and top-tier strength and conditioning coaches. Learning from the best? That's been a major part of my journey.
These adventures gave me a crash course in human anatomy (pun intended), which dovetails perfectly with my knack for nailing the perfect bike fit. So, in a nutshell, that's how I've fine-tuned my skills to give you some of the slickest bike fittings around.
Catch you on the trail,
Anthony "Archy" Malarczyk..
